TOWN SQUARE is an unusual consultancy founded and operated by Jerome Barth.  Jerome honed his place-making skills at two of the most beloved public city spaces of our age, New York’s Bryant Park and The High Line. At the reclaimed Bryant Park, he rose from the position of park manager to Vice President of Business Affairs. His part in fine-tuning operations, creating programs and raising operating revenues helped the park, funded by a business improvement district, become self-sustaining.

At the High Line, a city-park supported largely by Friends of the High Line, Jerome served as Chief Operations Officer, overseeing a transformed elevated railway that attracts more than 4.5 million visitors a year.

Jerome’s extensive travels and broad understanding of multiple cultures inflect his professional experience, giving him rare expertise in the realm of public space creation and management. He is uniquely equipped to show government agencies, commercial developers, and non-profit enterprises how to unlock the potential of spaces they control and realize lasting value for themselves and the public they serve.
